Luxury Hand Embroidered Silk Cushion

The intricate embroidery  on this luxury cushion. will keep your eyes dancing for hours as you absorb its beauty and let your mind dance in the stitches and colours in awe of its creator. Your artisan will have spent at least a month to craft its fine stitches each one by hand.

The artisans work at home and in groups, receive training and are paid a fair wage by people who believe that this type of work brings out the best in all of us..

The embroidery is crafted on top of a hand loom piece of cloth and this background adds more layers to the design. 

When I first visited this project in India in 1985 I was so devastated that they were doing this awesome work on poly cotton bases that I devoted 10 years of my life to growing organic and fair   trade cotton in the area where this embroidery is uniquely done.

The results of this effort are that now there are many hand weavers back in the region making cloth to to literally "support " this showstopping work.

Tailors mount the cushions to add the silken frame and voila !
