Workshop with Abigail in the craft capital of India - spend 7 days
stimulating your senses and admiring the true face of sustainable textiles off the beaten track in glorious India. Abigail herself will lead you right into the cotton fields just as she discovered them and you will be shown what organic and fair trade cotton farming is all about. You will have 2 more days out and about visiting the skilled cfraft villlages to see weavers, embroiders and specialists of natural dying,
Abigail will take you personally to the people who have inspired her to stand firm in the vision of a peaceful futures for texiles. The Rann of Kachchh will astound you as you tour the silent beauty creators in their sun soaked workplaces - embroiderers, weavers and block printers. But it doesn't stop there, inspired as you will be by the textiles you will select what you love and head to the studio where you will work for 2 whole days with Abigail creating your own dream dress or bed throw from local fabrics in the studio. You will learne even more as you actually work with the fabrics and you will be supported by skilled artisans so everyone will come home with something whatever their level of skill.
The tour will begin and end in Gujarat India ( there is a direct flight to Ahmedabad from Gatwick) and the cost is fully inclusive of airport pick up, 6 nights and 7 days full meals and 3/4 star accomodation.
the trips will be guided by Abigail supported by her local team.
